He treated women with respect and appreciation. We saw it every day in the big and small ways he loved our Mama. They had a beautiful 55-year love affair. I can still see them holding hands as they walked through the years together. When it was time for Mom to be with the Lord all of us children were with her. She looked up at us and said, “I’m tired, I want to see Daddy”. She closed her sweet eyes and like a rocket she was free to be with the only man she ever loved. I know he was there, arms wide open, big beautiful smile on his precious face as he welcomed her home and said what he had said every day when he would come home to greet her, “Does the most beautiful girl in the world live here”? We need more men like my father in this world. I love you Daddy. Thank you for being the BEST Dad any kid could ever hope for. Thank you for your patience, understanding and unconditional love all the days of my life. Happy Birthday. I’ll see you down the road XOXO
